BackupNative Module - backup solution for DotNetNuke (DNN)
|
Summary
BackupNative (formely GrupoSur.BackupLite) allows you to perform a full dotnetnuke (DNN) site backup: the database (native backup) plus all files and folders on the site (including \portals, \bin, \desktopmodules, web.config file, etc.). With proper rights also allows you to restore database backups.
The backup can be scheduled, among other options (see details below).
If the database and web servers are the same box, also allows you to compress the database backup file and download it (compressed or not). The files & folders backup file (zip) is always accessible.
This module is automatically added to the Host menu ("DNN Backup" option).
Which is the main difference between BackupNative and BackupScript?
The main purpose of BackupNative is perform a "native" SQL Server database backup.
The main purpose of BackupScript is backup your data no matter if the database is local or remote.

PRO edition - Additional features
- Full site backup: database plus all files and folders on the site (including \portals, \bin, \desktopmodules, web.config file, etc.).
- Optionally backups all the portals content (files and folders under the web site /Portals folder), plus the web.config file
- Scheduled backups are enabled: Every time you configure the module settings, a scheduled task is automatically configured (with optional email notifications of successful or failed backups).
You DON'T need any administrative right to configure your scheduled task options. You can configure it directly from the module settings.
- Optionally, date & time appended to each backup. Each backup operation will produce a different backup file.
- Configurable compression level for the compressed ZIP file creation.
- Automated configurable deletion of older backup files .
- Instead of produce many backup files you can have one with many backups turning off the "Initialize Store" setting (allows you to choose between "WITH INIT" and "WITH NOINIT" backups).
- Backup History Manager: DNN File Manager like dialog, where you can download, compress, uncompress, delete any file found on the configured backup folder. You also can restore (single click) a database backup file.
